He provides the essential details about how and when to use the software as well as an understanding of the principles and concepts that guide the use of the software. He employs ample examples show step-by-step how to achieve the most from the software. His writing style is straightforward, concise, and easy to read (without the cute attempts at humor found in other books). I have learned much from him. Now I am reading them again to engrain his lessons into my habits. I hope he will continue to produce such guides.Product details

Easy to understand with useful instructions. I am now confident that I know how and when to use it. It told of useful views that help even an amateur like me gauge the noise.
This book tells you what you need to know to use the software, well worth the price. Clearly written and to the point. Would have been 5 stars but the examples could have been better.

The author of this e-book clearly understands Nik Dfine software, but the book is so full of grammatical errors that there are times one may struggle to determine what point he is trying to make. Also, many of the screenshots he uses to illustrate a point are difficult to see, even when zoomed to full screen. Not recommended.

The author provides some excellent advice for eliminating noise at the time of capture. This book really shines when Whalley takes you under the hood of NIK Define2 and provides a no-nonsense approach to getting the most out of the plug-in with example images provided. And does it in a concise and easy to follow manner.
I had no idea that Define 2 could reduce noise this refined, improving images so well as to mask what type of camera made them. Thanks Robin for explaining your hard earned process with everyone with this software plugin. I always had problems when reducing noise. The details would disappear, looking more like those from a banded 8bit jpg than a 16bit Tiff. Your example images are truly amazing!
